As per the draft Haryana Solar Power Policy 2023, Haryana aims to generate 6,000 MW of solar power by 2030. As of February 2024, its solar power capacity was 265.8 MW.

How to Install a Solar Power Plant in Haryana

Here are the steps for installing solar systems in Haryana:

Step 1: Site Survey : A solar installation vendor will visit the site of installation and evaluate which type of solar system is best suited to it.

Step 2: Designing and Review : A solar vendor will prepare a plan for how the solar plant will be designed and installed. It has to be confirmed by the customer installing the solar system.

Step 3: Paperwork and Installation : The solar vendors will take care of the paperwork requirements and install the solar system.

Step 4: Inspection and Net Metering : The officials from the DISCOM will inspect the solar system and provide approval for the installation of net metering. 

Step 5: Turning on the Solar System : Once your solar system and the net meter are installed, the system can be turned on. The solar system will generate electricity whenever sunlight falls on the solar panels and export it to the DISCOM’s grid.

Steps to Apply for Solar Panel Subsidy in Haryana

To apply for state solar subsidy in Haryana, you have to first apply for the PM Surya Ghar subsidy and again apply on the website of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN). Here are the steps to be followed:

Visit the PM Surya Ghar scheme website. 

Click on ‘Apply for Rooftop Solar’.

To register, mention your state, district, DISCOM, consumer account number, captcha code, and mobile number.

Log in by entering your registered mobile number and a captcha code. 

Enter the required details in your application form.

Your DISCOM will check your application and create a feasibility approval for installation. Now you need to contact a DISCOM-empanelled vendor to install your solar system. A net metering application has to be done after your solar system has been installed.

The DISCOM will install a net meter, inspect it, and produce a commissioning certificate from the PM Surya Ghar portal. Submit your bank account details and a cancelled cheque through the PM Surya Ghar portal. Within 30 days, your subsidy will be transferred to your bank account.

Separately, you need to fill up the solar panel subsidy Haryana online form on the website of DBVHN. You need to enter the application reference number provided by the PM Surya Ghar portal to get the state solar subsidy.
